And the result was….

Negative.

Whew!

Now we need to make some serious decisions regarding birth control. I’m not particularly keen on hormones. One says “may cause loss of bone density and early osteoporosis” and the other says “May increase risk of cervical or breast cancer.”
Great! Just what I always wanted. Cancer AND weak bones. Grrrr…. I’m definitely looking into the getting my tubes “tied.” More importantly, I’m looking into vasectomies as well. Why are men such chickens about this? The way I see it, if we are both sure that we don’t want anymore kids, why am only I lumped with taking care of birth control??P.S. I know I said that my resolve wavers from time to time, but my logic does not. It’s purely an emotional pull that women must deal with…their whole lives I guess.

Birth control… you’d think that the first few kids would deter one from having more.

When new acquaintances find out that we have seven kids (ranging in ages from 30 to 11), we get the predictable witticism of “…didn’t you have TV?” What a stupid question, of course we had a TV, but our mistake was finally realised and we moved it out of the bedroom 11 years ago.

LOL Tell me about it! Maybe that’s the problem… we need to move it OUT of the bedroom!

So if it’s the Guy that takes the plunge (snip snip) how quickly after the event is it, you know, safe?

Sperm can live up to about 6 months, so they advise not to have unprotected sex for this long or approximately 20 ejaculations at which point they test to confirm sterility. Once you’ve cleared the test and assured a lack of sperm in your ejaculation, you can resume unprotected sex.
