I’ll take the BMW, thanks!

Sometimes my life seems like a series of soap opera-like, and highly amusing to other people, events. This week a friend of mine, in fact, my best friend here in Australia, fell out with her husband. Let’s call her M. They are unfortunately separating. I have been doing everything I can to help her out besides just being there to vent and offer a shoulder.
Last night, I was on my way to her new place when the car died. I was just rounding the corner of the exit ramp off the freeway onto a highly busy road when the engine just stopped. Now, my car can be a little temperamental at times so I did the usual drill of slamming it into neutral and trying valiantly to get it started again while going 60kph. No luck. I pulled over into the access lane to go back onto the freeway which was my only option as it was an overpass and there was no verge. Hazards on. Thankfully, the traffic behind me could see me from a little distance and were able to manoeuvre around me safely.
I waited a few minutes and tried to start her again, unsuccessfully. Finally, I called Brian.
“The car’s died on me, I think it’s the battery as I just get clicking when I try to start the car. I’m on *******’s Drive in the access lane to the freeway.”
“I’ll be right there.” He replies. (What a guy!)
After Brian arrives and tries to position his truck (with trailer attached) so that it doesn’t impede the traffic even more, he checks out the battery, adds water and tries again to start the car…. no luck. We tried giving it a boost. Nope. The only option a this point is to take everything out of my car and tow it to a safer spot (across three lanes of traffic.) We managed and he dropped me off at M’s house. Time flies for the next few hours and I look at my watch.
“OMG! It’s quarter to one!”
I worked this morning and needed to be up by 7:00am. Eek! I call Brian, who comes to get me without a single word of complaint at the late hour. (Again, what a guy!) Unbeknownst to me, he has already organized a car for me to get to work today. The kids mum’s! Otherwise known as Brian’s ex…lol. She is presently unable to drive her car and has graciously offered to let me use it while I need it.
Here’s where the story comes full circle…it’s a BMW. I happen to really like the way it drives and feels and have no problems with the indicators being on the opposite side. So…now that getting a new car is oh-so-much-more-pressing, maybe I should look into getting a beemer? LOL
Can you see it? “I’ll take the BMW, thanks!”
